REGIS (Planning)
This project is the creation of a plan to develop and implement the REGIS program. The initial hypothesis focuses on development of core processing functionality—the critical path (backbone) to the REGIS program. This is the functional pathway that all enterprise activity generating or settling a learner receivable balance will travel and with which all supporting functionality must connect. This backbone will process and initial subset of learners, those that flow quickly from application to registration to full payment. This flow of the most basic transactional components will also support the same basic components of the most complex transactions. Benefits will accrue quickly as undeserved components of the enterprise; in particular learners taking non-credit courses and certain online students, and learners taking credit courses but paying in full will be the first to benefit. This project will include:
• Confirmation of the hypothesis that core processes functionality development is the first logical step from an enterprise perspective. The other generic approach would be to prioritize cohesive functional areas and establish projects based on this prioritization list (achieve pockets of functional benefit and worry later about an integrated flow through a processing backbone).
• A project plan (components and time line) for program development and implementation
• Identification of the core project team
• Analysis of policy and/or technology implications for entire REGIS program
During the planning of the backbone, analysis will be done to identify which components of the process should implement next.
Projects that impact the success of the REGIS program will report status to the program manager. The REGIS program manager will ensure that progress is made and that any obstacles will be managed.
