ISRS communications module
To develop a configurable system that allows all campus personnel the ability to:
- Generate paper letters for mailing
- Generate e-communications that can be sent as e-mail, text messages, and to message boards.
- Communicate general information to groups of students, faculty and staff.
- Communicate specific information to individuals.
- Generate data-driven, rule based communication to students, based on rules determined by the institution and data stored in the system.
- Track the generation of all communications sent.
- Allow for the incorporation of any piece of data from the ISRS system into the communication.
To develop in the J2EE environment, thus, migrating from the current Uniface development environment.
The e-Communications project will involve extensive analysis to evaluate the functionality needed and determine the programmatic solution to build that functionality. A cross-functional task force of participants from a variety of institutions will be needed to ensure that all business requirements are gathered and documented. Investigation of existing solutions will be useful in helping determine the best technical design. Once the technical solution is created, it may be possible to release the project in phases of functionality as determined by the web development team and technical analyst.
